How to install and update Insta Pro APK on Android

Installing an app from outside the Play Store takes about two minutes once you know the steps. This guide shows you how to install Insta Pro APK v15.85 on Android, how to update it later without losing your login, and how to fix the “App not installed” error if it appears.

Before you start: you need Android 9 or newer, about 150 MB of free space and a stable internet connection. The same steps work for Insta Pro 2.

Step 1: Download the APK

Open instapromod.org in Chrome or any browser and tap Download Insta Pro or Download Insta Pro 2 at the top of the page. The file is about 146 MB, so wait until your notification bar says the download is complete.

Step 2: Allow Installs From Your Browser

Android blocks apps from unknown sources by default. The first time you open an APK, you will see a prompt. Tap Settings, switch on Allow from this source for your browser, then press back. You only need to do this once.

If you missed the prompt, open Settings, go to Apps, then Special app access, then Install unknown apps, pick your browser and turn it on. The menu names can differ a little between phone brands.

Step 3: Install Insta Pro

  1. Open the downloaded file from your notifications or the Downloads folder.
  2. Tap Install.
  3. If Google Play Protect shows a warning, tap More details and then Install anyway. Play Protect flags every app that does not come from the Play Store.
  4. Wait a few seconds and tap Open.

Step 4: Log In and Set Up Privacy

Log in with your usual Instagram username, email or phone number. Then open the Insta Pro settings from the top of the app and turn on what you need: hide seen, hide typing, the download button and the app lock. Your choices are saved, so you only set them once.

How to Update Insta Pro Without Losing Data

When a new version comes out, you do not need to uninstall anything. Download the new APK from the homepage and install it over the old one. Android replaces the app and keeps your login, chats and settings.

  • Update Insta Pro with the Insta Pro APK, and Insta Pro 2 with the Insta Pro 2 APK. Mixing them installs a second app instead of updating.
  • Only update with a build from the same source. An APK signed by someone else cannot replace the one you have.
  • Check your version in the Insta Pro settings menu. The latest release is v15.85.

How to Fix “App Not Installed”

This error almost always has one of these causes:

1. A different build is already installed

If your current Insta Pro came from another site, it may be signed differently, and Android refuses to update over it. Uninstall the old app, then install the new APK. You will need to log in again.

2. Not enough storage

The install needs roughly twice the file size while it unpacks. Free up at least 300 MB and try again.

3. The download is incomplete

A file that stopped halfway cannot be installed. Delete it from your Downloads folder and download it again on a stable connection.

4. Your Android version is too old

Version 15.85 needs Android 9 or newer. Check Settings, then About phone to see your version.

5. Play Protect blocked it

If the install stops without a message, open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, go to Play Protect and pause scanning while you install. Turn it back on afterwards.

Is It Safe to Install?

Download the APK only from a source you trust, like this site, and scan it with your security app before installing. Instagram does not officially support modded apps, so if you want zero risk, use Insta Pro with a secondary account. Read Insta Pro vs Insta Pro 2 to see how you can keep a second account in its own app.

FAQs

Do I need to uninstall the old version before updating?

No. Install the new APK over the old one. Only uninstall if you see “App not installed” because your current build came from another source.

Why does Play Protect warn me?

Play Protect warns about every app that is not from the Play Store. It does not mean the file is harmful, but scanning it yourself is always a good habit.

Can I install Insta Pro on iPhone?

No. APK files only work on Android phones and tablets.
